Review: Hoppy serves a writ Sheriff Hoppy has to find a way to bring the bad guys, headed by Tom Jordan, to justice in the Lone Star state. The problem is that they are hiding out beyond his jurisdiction, in Oklahoma. Sufficiently entertaining Hoppy western that is sparse in action but has some good chase sequences and a good pace, plus the cast - Victor Jory, Robert Mitchum, Earl Hodgkins, George Reeves and of course our three protagonists- make this watchable. Watch out for that rough and tumble fight between Boyd and Jory in the saloon -one real wild fight. Hoppy and co. Chase Robert Mitchum, and they soon they are battling victor jory over the land. Really nifty western that keeps one's interest throughout - William Boyd exudes style and charisma. As for Robert Mitchum in a small role has star quality. Buddy Goes West - Two outlaws: "The doctor" (Bud Spencer) and the Indian Girolamo (Amidou) are helping villagers to fight a gang and a corrupt sheriff who has discover gold under the village. Buddy Goes West (1981) Director: Michele Lupo Writers: Sergio Donati (screenplay), Sergio Donati (story) Stars: Bud Spencer, Joe Bugner, Piero Trombetta Genre: Comedy, Western Country: Italy Language: English Release Date: 14 May 1981 (West Germany) Also Known As: Dağların aslanı Filming Locations: Mini Hollywood, Tabernas, Almería, Andalucía, Spain Storyline: Two outlaws: "The doctor" (Bud Spencer) and the Indian Girolamo (Amidou) are helping villagers to fight a gang and a corrupt sheriff who has discover gold under the village. Reviews: "This movie is a spaghetti western with a comic twist. Spencer goes solo in this film. He goes to the town of Yucca, where he pretends that he is a doctor. Watching him trying to cure people is simply a riot. He completely has no clue what he is doing, and he mixes up all kinds of crazy potions and does some awkward things. I watched the Hungarian version, and the dubbing is excellent. In Hungarian, the title translated is "Golden Rain in Yucca". I haven't seen this film in a while, but I pretty much laughed the entire time I watched it. Spencer kicks ass as usual in his unique style. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for non-stop laughter and entertainment." Written by srobi280 "If u lobe bud spencer then this is a must have. this time without his long time friend Terence hill we watch him in an adventure in the old west doing what he knows best. eating beans and hitting the bad guys. thing is...this is not another average western with bud is that u love it cause u like bud. this movie actually is worth it and bud just makes it even better. bud's duel with the corrupt sheriff is one of the highlights of the film. the music is superb. just hear the music in the final duel. it's up there with the Ennio Morricone western themes. all in all this is maybe the best western solo film bud did without Terrence hill. here are a few more worthy bud western films he made without Terrence hill so that u can check them out. Review: Atmospheric old ranch mystery At the reading of his late cousin's will, California learns the estate will be divided among whoever remains of the seven relatives. With one already dead, another immediately murdered, and the Lawyer telling them the ranch is almost worthless, Hoppy investigates. Masked Killer in a cloak, secret passages, people getting bumped off, eyes moving in a moose, and strange maid talking about hearing voices - all these make you think you're watching a dark house mystery than a Hopalong Cassidy Western. It's a mix of two genres, and it works really well, and though it's not action-packed, enough things happen to keep you watching. It's great fun, then again I'm sucker for a dark house mystery, add that to a horse opera and I am happy.
